About the event
A sewing circle devoted to the study of old-world needlecraft and literary imagination for the modern woman. Inspired by the legacy of Madame Elizabeth Keckley, Needle & Narrative is a gathering devoted to the art of couture sewing and the literary traditions that surround it.
Guided by writer and former couturiere Carmen Evelyn G. Nuyda, the circle brings together makers, readers, and thinkers to explore the enduring relationship between needlework, history, and storytelling. We invite you to join the circle and experience the transformative power of creativity, connection, and shared stories—where every stitch carries history, every story holds memory, and every gathering nurtures skill, self-discovery, identity,
and sisterhood.
Our first sewing lesson will be "Sewing by Hand: An introduction to Decorative Stitching."
$30 Monthly membership includes member welcome kit + instruction/sewing lesson/lab. (Pls. note: This does not include materials, books and/or supplies required.)
